Absorb as much of the spillage as possible using a clean, white cloth or plain white kitchen paper. Dab with the bleach solution until the stain no longer colours the cloth/kitchen paper. Finally dab with clean water and absorb with paper. Sprinkle potato starch over the damp patch and vacuum clean after 24 hours.

Apply with a white cloth soaked in the solvent – the stain should be treated gently.

Absorb as much of the solution as possible using a clean, white cloth or plain white kitchen paper. Dab/rub with a cloth moistened in acetone. Repeat the treatment until the stain no longer stains the cloth/kitchen paper. NB! Never pour acetone or other solvents directly onto the carpet. (Follow the manufacturer's instructions and, if you are in any doubt, contact your carpet dealer.)
